Abu Dhabi, 5 September / WAM: Mubadala Investment Company announced that it has signed two memoranda of understanding with the Human Resources Authority and the Center for Excellence for Applied Research and Training "CERT" to provide support to the second batch of participants in the "Train for Work" program, which includes 500 Emirati trainees.

The "Train for Work" program contributes to achieve the goals of Emiratisation and sustainable development in Abu Dhabi through investing in the national human energies. After the completion of the requirements of the program, the trainees will be enrolled in a number of companies within Mubadala's diversified business portfolio in the sectors of health care, finance, digital transformation and technical and administrative affairs.

In addition to the chances of training and development, the program will allow trainees to obtain assessment, guidance, counseling and skill-upgrading by enrolling them in one of Mubadala’s subsidiaries including Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Imperial College London Diabetes Center, National Reference Laboratory, Capital Health Screening Center, Healthpoint Hospital, Amana Healthcare, Sanad Aerotech, Masdar, Abu Dhabi Entertainment, Abu Dhabi Telemedicine Center, Al Yah Satelite Company and Emirates Global Aluminum Company.

Hamid Abdullah Al Shammari, Executive Vice President of the Group and CEO of Corporate Affairs and Human Resources at Mubadala, said: We are fully convinced that education and experience are inseparable, and that practical experience, training and partnerships between the public and private sectors are very important in building and developing skills and expertise. There is no doubt that the program "Train to Work" confirms the commitment of Mubadala to developing national cadres and advancing the economic growth of the UAE.

Amal Al Jabri, Acting Director-General of the Human Resources Authority, confirmed that this common cooperation is an important and pioneering step to increase employment opportunities for national job seekers and enhance the role and contribution of the people of the country in the process of construction and development.

She also said: We are working in the Human Resources Authority to prepare plans to develop the labor market in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and we are keen to open channels of communication and cooperation with all parties to develop human capital and enhance the work system in all areas that keep pace with the development process of the country. We confirm that Emiratisation is a strategic priority that requires integration between the various government and private sectors.

Al Jabri praised the efforts of the strategic partners and all those involved in such programs aimed at investing in the national human element and giving equal opportunities for national competencies to participate in advancing the comprehensive development wheel in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

In turn, His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology, confirmed that Emiratisation is the responsibility of everyone and that solidarity and cooperation between institutions at the level of education, training and employment supports Emiratisation efforts, pointing out that the partnership between the Higher Colleges of Technology represented by the Excellence Center for Applied Research and Training (CERT), the Human Resources Authority and Mubadala Investment Company through "Train for Work" program, is deemed a distinguished form in supporting Emiratisation based on the integration of roles, in terms of identifying job seekers through the Human Resources Authority, and training and qualifying them through specialized programs according to actual needs of the labor market, which is the role played by the Higher Colleges of Technology through "CIRT" to be employed by "Mubadala" according to the job vacancies available at its subsidiaries.

Al Shamsi confirmed that the great success of the first batch of the program encouraged the Higher Colleges of Technology to receive a new batch, which is expected to include 500 Emirati trainees who will be trained in health care fields as medical assistants and translators and aviation technicians at the level of general technical training. The first batch, which started in 2019 and continued until the end of 2020, included about 1,200 citizens looking for job including a number of people of determination.

This initiative reflects the commitment of Mubadala and the Human Resources Authority to developing the capabilities and skills of young national cadres.

Mubadala and through the "Train for Work" program, aims to create a dynamic system for learning and development that applies the best international practices in this field by providing young national cadres with future skills and knowledge, increasing their employment opportunities, and absorbing them into jobs that suit their aspirations and allow them to achieve an ambitious and successful career path.

Last year, Mubadala concluded strategic agreements in the field of digital transformation with the Department of Education and Knowledge - Abu Dhabi, and in the field of financing with companies such as Deloitte, KPMG, RAI and Ernst & Young.
